Summer School Programe

The Summer School of Preventive Medicine will consist of three thematic modules:

Module I. Infectious disease prevention

  • Epidemiology  - Infectious diseases and public health
  • Health in humanitarian crises
  • Threat of multidrug resistant bacterial pathogens in the 21st Century
  • Vaccine Literacy. Strategies to improve vaccination uptake among highly vulnerable populations

Module II. Non-communicable disease prevention

  • Obesity and its metabolic consequences
  • Prevention of cardiovascular diseases\
  • Plant-based diets and functional foods
  • Planning dietary interventions

Module III. Clinical communication

  • Effective patient communication
  • Health communication: theoretical and practical aspects
  • Communication in interdisciplinary teams

All classes will be delivered in English by the team of academic teachers from the Medical University of Warsaw.

Emphasis will be placed on transferring practical knowledge that enhances students’ competencies and can be applied in further education or professional practice.
