Call for Applications

We are delighted to launch the 1st edition of the NAWA Spinaker Summer School of Preventive Medicine.

The Summer School of Preventive Medicine is a 150-hour hybrid programme designed for students and early-career professionals in medical and health-related fields.

Application deadline: 31 March 2026 by 4 PM Central European Time (CET)

Participation is free of charge.

  • Confirmation of student status [download this file from here ]
  • English language certificate or an equivalent document e.g. certificate issued by your language school, proof of passing an English course at your University
  • CV and Motivation letter (max. 1 A4 page)
  • Portfolio - list of publications, active participation in conferences (e.g. presentations, posters), and other relevant academic activities
  • A letter of recommendation issued by the Dean of the Faculty at which the Applicant holds active student status, or (if the position of Dean does not exist within the institutional structure) a letter issued by an equivalent senior academic officer responsible for the study programme (e.g. Head of School, Head of Department, Programme Director, Director of Studies)

The programme is open to Polish and foreign* students enrolled in all years of medical and health-related studies (including undergraduate, second-cycle, and unified Master’s programmes), including:

  • Medicine, Dentistry
  • Nursing, Midwifery
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical Analytics
  • Nutrition, Dietetics
  • Public Health

*A foreign student is a person who has the status of a student at a foreign (non-Polish) university.

Applicants must hold a certificate from their home university confirming their student status both at the start and at the completion of the Project, and have an English proficiency level of at least B2.

The online module is open to all eligible applicants, including students from Poland and abroad, who submit the required documents.

The hybrid module (online and on-site in Warsaw) is limited to 30 foreign students, selected through a competitive evaluation process.

 

FUNDING
Participation in the Summer School is free of charge.

A total of 30 foreign students will be eligible for financial support, which includes:

  • a lump sum for travel expenses to and from Poland (in accordance with point 6.9.15 of the NAWA Beneficiary Handbook)
  • a lump sum for subsistence and accommodation, covering 12 days of classes and 2 travel days (daily rate specified in point 6.9.14 of the NAWA Beneficiary Handbook)
  • a scholarship for 12 days of the Summer School and 2 travel days (daily rate specified in Section VIII, point 6 of the Spinaker 2024 Call for Proposals).

 

STEP 3: Fill in the registration form and submit all documents prepared in step 2 (please send scanned copies)

Deadline for applications: 31 March 2026 by 4 PM Central European Time (CET).
Applications will be evaluated by a recruitment committee.
Applicants will be informed of the results by email by 30 April 2026.

 

DESCRIPTION OF SUMMER SCHOOL

The Summer School will be conducted from 1 June to 20 July 2026, in two formats:

  • a hybrid format for 30 selected foreign students, combining an e-learning platform with on-site classes at the Medical University of Warsaw
  • an online format for all other participants (Polish and foreign students), including e-learning and live-streamed sessions.

The Summer School of Preventive Medicine will consist of three thematic modules:

Module I. Infectious disease prevention

Module II. Non-communicable disease prevention

Module III. Clinical communication

All classes will be delivered in English by the team of academic teachers from the Medical University of Warsaw.
